Shakuntala and Dushyanta
Shakuntala’s husband, Dushyanta, tell her that he needs to visit his kingdom and that he will promise to return. However, it seems as though he has forgotten about her. One day, Durvasa, a powerful Rishi, comes to visit her. She is so distracted by the thoughts of her husband that she does not greet the Rishi well. He curses her saying that Dushyanta will only remember her through an object that he had given her. Will she be able to reunite with her husband?
Ganga and Shantanu
Ganga has been sent down to earth as a mortal to marry Shantanu. Before marriage, Ganga makes Shantanu promise her that he will not question any of her actions. Ganga gave birth to seven children, and drowned all of them. Shantanu did not question her. When she is about to do the same with the eighth child, Shantanu cannot take it anymore and stops her.
Satyavati and Shantanu
After grieving the death of his wife for years, Shantanu finds place in his heart for another woman, Satyavati. She is the adopted daughter of a ferryman and Shantanu seeks to marry her. However, the ferryman tells him that he will let them marry only if Satyavati’s son inherits the throne. Will Shantanu agree with this considering he has a son who is supposed to be the heir to the throne? Will Devavrata feel bad or does he want his father’s happiness more than his own?
